MTSU – Bragg Media & Entertainment Building

MTSU is the largest locally governed university in the state of Tennessee. As with any large university,  spaces often need to be reworked to accommodate current demands. This room in the mass communications building was originally equipped with auditorium chairs–not ideal for lecture purposes. The owner wanted new tables without altering the existing floor plan, stairs and risers. A traditional lecture table system would have required a larger footprint resulting in costly modifications. We provided the owner with a solution—a space-saving lecture table system. This innovative small-footprint fixed design only necessitated minor aesthetic updates to the room. In order to accommodate students in the fall, it was necessary for the demolition and renovation to be completed during the summer. On time and within budget, Varia successfully transformed the auditorium seating into a proper lecture room.
