Riverdale K-8

This 60,000 square foot addition was GMSD’s first major capital investment. The addition replaced portable classrooms to accommodate grades 6-8. Teachers are always looking for ways to hold the attention of students, and a change in a learning environment can be an effective tool. Varia provided the unique tiered wood seating in the corridor cutaways, giving teachers the opportunity to take learning outside the classroom. The project also includes an art room, combination lecture/lab, and state-of-the-art STEM lab with 3-D printing capabilities. Design elements were chosen to inspire, engage and impact students as well as teachers and staff.
