Jackson-Wonder Elementary School

Jackson Wonder Elementary is a K-6 public school in West Memphis, AR designed to house approximately 700 students using forward-thinking learning environments that go beyond a typical classroom layout. A common request for most schools is storage, storage, and more storage. Varia teamed up with the architect, owner and contractor to provide a unique solution for classroom storage that included a student cubby with wall cabinet and fascia cabinet mounted above. Student cubbies were furnished with colorful cabinet backs that add interest and indicate the grade level. The fascia cabinets were used throughout the facility to eliminate the need for soffits above the upper cabinets, which has become a standard design feature for WMSD.
