At Varia we are more than lab casework suppliers—we are lab designers. Architect Moody Nolan contacted Varia to assist with the laboratory design in this new state-of-the-art science building for Indiana University Northwest. Teaching labs were equipped with two kinds of student tables—adjustable height Axis tables for multi-discipline use and conventional island benches for biology. Some unique features of this project are the use of plastic laminate casework in a traditional lab setting, light gray epoxy resin countertops and sinks, and ample floor space and storage cabinets. Axis student tables were equipped with mobile base cabinets and a variety of services including H&CW faucets, ADA accessible sinks, gas, air, vacuum, electrical outlets and network connections. This lab was strategic and future-focused while still maintaining a classic style.
