There’s one thing most schools have an abundance of—hallways. Hallways are frequently plain, boring, a little lackluster if you will. But artists love a blank canvas, and a hallway can be the perfect space to showcase school spirit. You may think branding is a word that only applies to big companies, but it has risen in popularity in both large and small schools. School branding is all about the colors, the fonts, the logos that represent a particular school. It helps build camaraderie and school spirit while letting others in the community instantly know who you are and what your school culture is like.

At Varia, we have worked with schools to install wall panel systems as a part of school branding. Our wall panel installations have ranged from acoustic panels in school colors to large graphic wall panels of the school’s mascot. Different areas of a school call for different types of branding. An auditorium may have subtle, classic branding on wood grain acoustic panels while school hallways provide an opportunity to be a bit bolder and make school colors and mascots the focal point.

Using wall panels for school branding serves two purposes with one installation. Schools are noisy. With the average high school in the U.S. having nearly 1,000 students, you can imagine the headache when the bell rings. Just the mere shuffling of feet can be loud, let alone 850 students talking and fumbling around in their lockers. Instead of plain acoustic panels to minimize sound, why not insert a two-story graphic wall panel of your beloved mascot? Graphic wall panels are a product that buffers and brands!
